Hello readers – and here it is, the final installment of tease week! I thought I’d end things with a look into the upcoming final installment of the Seeder Saga, “Changeling.”
Lizzie is kidnapped from Earth by a handsome stranger, only to find out her father was from another planet, and embroiled in a plot that threatens mankind all over the galaxy. She’s thrown together with Indar, a member of the Seeder Corps, and together, they’re going to have to figure out a mystery that spans time and space – that is, if they can keep their hands off each other long enough to do so. Along the way, they’ll catch up with our old friends, Miri, Raine, and their men – all of whom prove valuable in this quest.
She was just starting to sit up when the door suddenly opened, and Indar stepped in. He stopped cold at the sight of her, naked and laying on the bed. His jaw dropped slightly, and then his eyes moved over every exposed inch of her as a slow smile began to spread across his face.
“What are you doing? Get out!” She squealed, scrambling to pull the coverlet of the bed across her body.
He closed the door calmly, and turned to look at her again.
“You had to realize we’d be sharing the room.” His eyes were burning, locked on hers.
“And I’m supposed to be safe in a room with you?” She asked, incredulously.
Indar crossed the room purposefully to stand in front of her. He held out his hand, and without thinking, she took it. He slowly pulled her to her feet as she held onto the coverlet for dear life.
“You know this is inevitable, Lizzie.” His hand slid up her arm, leaving a trail of gooseflesh in its wake, his fingers traveling slow up her shoulder and neck until they softly stroked her jawline. “I know you’re apprehensive, and I understand that.”
His voice was hypnotizing, seducing her even as his thumb moved up to stroke her lower lip. “We both know how incredible we’re going to be together. You can feel it, just like I do. We don’t know how this will all end up, but we know we have right now, and we have this.”
He pulled her slowly up against him, as if he didn’t want to frighten her. His arms moved around her and one of her own hands crept up to his chest, feeling the hard slab of muscle and the heat of him through his shirt. Lizzie raised her eyes to his, and felt like she was drowning in him. She took a shaky breath, wet her lips and answered him.
“Wow.” She pulled back. “Is that really the line you use? ‘We have right now!'” she mocked. “‘Who knows what tomorrow will bring!‘” She gave him a push and laughingly held her free hand to her heart in a dramatic fashion. “‘We must seize this moment!‘” She sank down onto the bed, still laughing. “Honest to God, Indar. How many dewy-eyed women has that line scored for you? Bravo!” She clapped, her eyes full of laughter.
Indar turned on his heel without a word, heading into the bathing room and slamming the door behind him. She heard the water running as he washed up, and let out a huge sigh of relief.
Holy shit. He nearly had her. If he had tried to kiss her again, she would have let him and that coverlet would have dropped and she would have been under him in a heartbeat. If he’d have gone for it, he would have gotten exactly what he wanted this time, because–God help her—he was right.
He was right. They would be good together. She felt it in the pit of her stomach, and much lower down. And they did have now, for as long as it lasted. It would be easy.
Too damn easy.
