I’ve been an avid fanfiction reader for years, but only started writing them around this time last year.  So far, I’ve only written for one fandom, Once Upon A Time, because honestly, that’s pretty much the only TV show I regularly watch. I don’t have a lot of time for TV, but I love the show and I make time for it. I even got Hulu just so I could see it (I got rid of cable a while ago and ABC -the assholes – won’t let you watch for a week without a code from a cable provider).

I was writing more for myself than anyone else, really. I had a story in my head that wouldn’t go away (it later became Eight Nights At Sea), so I wrote the story I wanted to read. Surprisingly, a lot of people wanted to read it too, and since it didn’t feature the traditional pairing of Killian Jones and Emma Swan, I was amazed it did as well as it did. That fic led to another, and another, and another, and here I am, nine fics later and some of them have been epic. They’re almost all Captain Swan ships but I did deviate to write stories about their offspring twice to complete a trilogy. They’ve all done fairly well, and I have learned so much from having to write not only chronologically, but around a show that sometimes throws monkey wrenches into my plot. My readers have taught me so much, and inspired so many of my stories in so many different directions. They’ve made me a better writer, and gave me the confidence to branch out into writing my novels.
