Yes, you read that right! The great Amazon Kindle Select exercise has yielded its results and the time has come to bid it adieu….
Sort of.
Here’s the deal: I get a lot of mileage out of Kindle Unlimited users, but only for the first 6 months or so after a release, and definitely a huge bump when I post a completed series as a set. So I’ve come up with the following parameters:
All new titles will be featured on Kindle Select for the first 6 months after their release. After that, they’ll break on Smashwords, which feeds out to iTunes, Barnes & Noble, Inktera, Kobo, Scribd, and a few dozen other places – including an online reader at Smashwords itself.
The one exception to this will be my completed set editions (like the Seeder Saga complete set). They have more legs to them, so I’ll keep them on Kindle Select for a year before they go to Smashwords. I know that seems unfair to my non-Kindle users, but I have to stay where the majority of the readership is. And Kindle does feature several programs you can download to enable you to read it on a tablet device, phone or PC, so you’re still covered if you don’t want to wait.
So check me out on Smashwords if you’re not a fan of Kindle, and most (soon all!) of my titles are available via paperback as well through both Amazon and direct at Createspace.
Thanks so much for bearing with me as I sorted this one out!
