In the beginning of Earthsinger, we take the volatile Matt and our ballsy girl Manni, and we stuff them into a truck for a long road trip. By the end of the first day, Matt is ready to throw in the towel, that is, until Manni makes her move…

He followed her into the bedroom in a daze, dropping the bags near the doorway. Manni continued on into the large ensuite bathroom, and Matt waited for her to close the door. She didn’t. Instead, she peeked her head around the door frame.
“You wanna get cleaned up first? Or should we just get right to it?”
Matt wondered for one brief moment if this was some kind of test.
“Right to it?” he asked cautiously.
“Sounds good to me,” she replied, taking his question as an agreement. “We’ll just need another shower after, anyway.”
She pulled her dress off and tossed it to the side as all of the saliva instantly dried up in Matt’s mouth. Holy God. He knew she was hot – come on, he wasn’t blind – but damn. She reached behind her, unhooking her bra as she called out to Wash, who was settling down by the door.
“Do you mind?” she asked. “We’d like some privacy.”
Matt’s eyes widened as the dog pushed up to his feet, giving Manni a look of pure indignation.
“I’ll let you back in when we’re done, okay?” she offered, tossing the bra on the floor with her dress and peeling off her panties. She straightened up, giving Matt an impatient look as Wash walked out the door.
“Come on,” she said. “Get naked.”
“Get…naked.” Matt repeated slowly. His brain was just not capable of processing this. It had to be a trick of some kind.
“Don’t tell me you’re gay,” Manni said, rolling her eyes. “I can usually pick up on that but your eyes have been all over me.”
“Gay?” Matt looked at her incredulously. “I am not gay.”
“Good. So let’s get busy.”
“Wait. I – just wait.” Matt shook his head. “I’m not sure what’s going on here.”
“You really are thick, aren’t you?” Manni said, with her hands on her hips.
