#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday! Killian and Emma Have A Talk . . .

pandora

In my Once Upon A Time fanfiction, Pandora’s Pain, Storybrooke is visited by a lone woman, who’s looking for a very particular box. Unfortunately, this woman carries a curse that affects the lives of anyone near her, sending them back to relive the most troubled time in their life.

In this scene, Killian and Emma have a quiet moment alone before all hell breaks loose – and Emma decides to ask a difficult question . . .

They stood in silence for several minutes, just watching the sun sink into the sea. Killian had been right about that, too – it was incredibly romantic. She sighed, lifting her head from where she’d leaned it back against his chest.

“Why the long sigh, Swan?” he asked. “You’re not turning pensive on me, are you?”

“Maybe a little bit,” she confessed. “Just thinking about what life must be like – looking at this every day.”

“And now you know why the sea is any sailor’s first love,” he replied. “I suppose his ship is his second.”

And you gave up your ship for me, she thought. A glance over her shoulder at his face said he was probably thinking the same thing.

“It’s all right, Swan,” he said with a half-smile. “I don’t regret that trade.” Continue reading

#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday: Pirate Emma Is A Force To Be Reckoned With

thesedreams

In my Once Upon A Time Fanfic, These Dreams, Emma and Killian are thrown into the Dreamscape, running in and out of each other’s dreams, and the dreams of everyone in Storybrooke.

In this scene, Emma has just arrived in Killian’s dream and has no idea what’s going on . . .

The floor had just shifted beneath her. She was on a ship. Her eyes shifted to the full-length mirror mounted to a nearby wall and she turned to it slowly, her jaw falling open.

Thigh high black boots, tight black leather pants, a black leather corset and a crimson shirt, unbuttoned low enough to make the most of her ‘assets’, which were prominently displayed courtesy of the corset. The sword belt at her hip held a gleaming cutlass, and a coiled whip hung from the other side. Her hair fell in glorious tumble about her shoulders and the rings on her fingers and dangling earrings only cemented the picture.

“Holy shit,” she mumbled. “I’m a pirate.” Continue reading

#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday – Killian Makes An Apology

adrift

In my Once Upon A Time fanfic, ADRIFT, Killian Jones is hit with a brutal curse that sends him back to a time when he made a life-changing decision – and it forces him to choose the other path.

We meet a Killian Jones who sailed away from a crumbling Storybrooke in Season 2, leaving Emma behind to die – or so he thought until she appears on his ship a year later to tell him that reality didn’t happen that way. Can Emma convince Killian to become the man he was destined to be? And can they take on Pan and Zelena in a new game, with even greater stakes?

In this scene, it’s the morning after a very drunk Killian made a visit to Emma’s bedside. And he’s learning that it didn’t work out the way he’d planned . . . Continue reading

#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday – Killian Contemplates Fatherhood

s3finale

Captain’s Choice is a fanfic made of supporting stories that take place in and around The Memory Keeper series. In this scene, Killian has just accidentally learned that Emma is carrying his child, and while Emma slumbers peacefully, he contemplates just what that means to him . . .

Holy God.

He took a moment just to let it all sink in. He’d spent so long not worrying about the possibility of ever impregnating anyone, that it hadn’t even occurred to him. There had been so many women – surely after all this time they numbered in the hundreds at the very least. A disjointed smattering of names and faces and body parts – some more memorable than others and very few worth a return visit.

Yet in all that tomcatting he’d been careful. The last thing he ever wanted was a bastard child of his out there somewhere, growing up without a father. He’d sought out a witch and paid for a spell long ago that protected him from any such eventuality. Once it took hold he would be unable to get anyone with child – unless he truly wanted to.

And now he sat, flabbergasted by the fact that he must’ve truly wanted to, with Emma. Continue reading

#OnceUponATime #FanFic Friday: Killian The Massage Therapist Is At Your Service

thesedreams

In my Once Upon A Time Fanfic, These Dreams, Emma gets trapped in the dreamscape, falling in and out of the dreams of the residents of Storybrooke, as well as her own dreams, too. Killian goes under a sleeping curse so that he can rescue her, but in every dream scenario, one of them has to be reminded of who they are. In this chapter, Killian finds Emma – and oh, is this unexpected . . .

“Your client is ready in room six,” the young woman said to Killian, sticking her head around the door frame.

Killian took a moment to get his bearings. He gave the girl a nod of acknowledgement, not having the foggiest idea as to what he should be doing with that information. He looked down at his attire for clues, but didn’t get much. He was wearing black jeans and a black tee shirt, with some sort of logo on the front of it over the left breast pocket.

He reached into his pocket, pulling out the compass – which seemed, happily, to travel with him wherever he went – and checked it. The needle directed him down the hallway, right to room six. He grasped the doorknob and stepped inside, closing the door behind him.

He was completely unprepared for the sight that awaited him. A woman lay face-down on a low table, completely unclothed but for a sheet, artfully draped across her shapely bum and nothing else. That was startling enough, but he knew the line of that neck and the set of those shoulders anywhere.

“Emma?”

She raised a non-committal hand. “Come on in,” she said, her voice muffled. “I’m ready to go.”

#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday: What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor?

adrift

In my Once Upon A Time fanfiction, Adrift, Killian Jones is hit with a curse that undoes the last few years of his life, sending him back to his formerly villainous self. Emma is thrown there with him, and it’s up to her to convince him that he’s not the guy he thinks he’s become. In this scene, after a tumultuous beginning on The Jolly Roger, Emma has retreated downstairs while Killian tries to drink his evening away . . .

Emma opened her eyes slowly, groggy at first, and then she remembered where she was. A stumbling sound made her sit up in the bunk, and she realized he’d woken her when he slid the hatch open to the crew cabin. Now he was currently falling down the stairs, rebounding off the opposite wall before he caught himself and leaned against it.

“Hello,” he said, giving her that lopsided grin. He was barefoot, his hair was mussed, his shirt was undone, and he was very, very inebriated. If she weren’t still so pissed at him, he’d be adorable.

“Hook.” She slid her feet off the bunk and stood up. “I’m sleeping, here. Do you mind?”

He smiled affably. “I don’t mind if you sleep. Don’t let me keep you, love.” He gestured back to the bed.

“You’re drunk.”

“A remarkably astute observation,” he said, pushing off the wall and walking toward her unsteadily.

In Any Reality, They Find Each Other

mkd

In my Once Upon A Time Fanfic, The Memory Keeper’s Daughter, we delve into part 2 of the Memory Keeper series. I wrote this installment early in Season 3 before the big time-traveling finale – imagine my surprise when they did nearly the same thing with the show!

In this fic, young Meriel Jones is the victim of a wicked Generational Curse, courtesy of a really pissed-off demigod. With the help of Rumplestiltskin and a mysterious companion, she has to travel back in time to the Enchanted Forest, where she has to set things right by making sure her parents meet and fall in love. She meets a very different Emma, whose life has been even rougher because of the aftermath of Meriel’s curse.

In this scene, Killian and Emma have their second meeting, and it doesn’t go so well. . . Continue reading

#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday: Killian And Emma Meet Again In “Mr. Jones”

mrjones

In my latest Once Upon A Time fanfic, Mr. Jones, Killian has been thrown into an unfamiliar world – ours – but without the benefit of his memories. They’re simmering under the surface, but he’s having a devil of a time getting to any of them.

In this scene, he meets his new neighbor – someone who seems to be vaguely familiar. . .

He’d just settled down on the tattered couch with a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup when he heard the crash. A neighbor’s voice carried through her open window.

“Keep it down out there!” she yelled.

Killian set his dinner on the coffee table and walked to the door, opening it. He stared down the row, first left, then right. A box full of odds and ends – an old lamp, a digital alarm clock, some clothes, a few dishes – was scattered across the balcony walkway, but there was no one in sight. He pulled his door shut behind him and scratched his head as he stared at the mess.

“What the devil?” he muttered, glancing up to see if someone had dropped it off the roof, when suddenly the door open in the neighboring apartment. A woman – a beautiful woman, he silently amended, with the most glorious cloud of blonde hair stepped through, then froze in her tracks, startled, when she saw him.

#OnceUponATime #FanFic Friday: Killian Faces A Former Flame

twice

My Once Upon A Time Fanfic, Twice Upon A Dream is a sequel to the very popular, These Dreams, and once again we see our heroes stuck in the dreamscape, trying to navigate their way out. This time the whole gang is along, and as they run in and out of each other’s dreams, it can occasionally get a little. . . dicey.

“Does this look familiar to you?” Emma asked, staring down at herself in dismay.

“Vaguely.” He glanced around. “We seem to be in a manor house of some sort, and from the look of your corset, I’d say we’re in the Enchanted Forest. We just need to figure out exactly where…and when.”

He twined his fingers with her, pulling her along through a doorway, only to run smack into a woman who was coming through the doorway at the same time. She staggered back a few steps in surprise and Killian let go of Emma’s hand to reach out and steady her.

“Killian!” she exclaimed, and her face broke into a smile. “I didn’t realize you were in port! But what are you thinking, coming here? He’s sure to see you.”

Killian froze a moment, then he rubbed his ear uncomfortably. “Hello, Adelaide.

“Alannis,” she corrected, and her eyes narrowed, leveling on Emma.

“Who’s this?”

#OnceUponATime #Fanfic Friday: Killian Throws Down The “R” Word

memorykeeper

My Once Upon A Time fic The Memory Keeper, was set smack in the middle of the season 3 hiatus, and therefore has it’s own take on what happened once Killian helped Emma get her memory back – including a very different Wicked Witch.

In this scene, Killian and Emma are hiding out in the cabin of an old friend, trying to stay one step ahead of the witch. This chapter is titled “The Princess and the Pirate,” and features this great soul-searching scene between the two.
