This particular Once Upon A Time Fanfic chapter is from a series of one-offs I titled “You Had Me at Malfeasance.” Some of these are fun scenes I’d like to see, and some, like this one, are “missing scenes” in and around the existing story.
This chapter is set right after Emma battles her erstwhile fiance-monkey, Walsh, and realizes she hasn’t ever really been free of Storybrooke, the memories she made there….or the people she made them with.

In my novella, Captured by the Hunter, Jodan is an interstellar bounty hunter, sent to collect a runaway bride. Drella turns out to be a very worthy prey – and much, much more than he bargained for. In this scene, Drella used her feminine wiles to outsmart him, and he’s giving himself a mental lecture over it…
He was slipping. He’d let himself get distracted, and he had no one to blame for that but himself. It hadn’t even occurred to him that the woman could be beautiful. Or that alluring.
He’d heard stories of Inirian women, of course, but he’d dismissed a lot of it as folklore. Being a Prim, he knew first-hand how stories of sexual exploits travelled, and only very rarely did they have a smattering of truth.
He hadn’t counted on her being that beautiful. Or on her obvious attraction to him. He was there to capture her – yet she had still become aroused at his proximity to her. He couldn’t help but react.
He should have helped it. He should have known she’d have a plan to distract him.
I was out to dinner on Saturday night, and the man at the table next to us has no idea he’ll be starring in one of my future novels.
I’m certainly not creepy enough to tell him that, of course. Hot damn, there was just something about him. He was there with a buddy, and the way he laughed…the way his eyes crinkled. And he had this way of moving his hands that made me want to put them on my body (which was really kind of disconcerting as I was sitting there with my kid).
And then at the end of the meal, he leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms behind his head. Aaauughh. Continue reading

Freelancers, take note!
On April 12th, Facebook will be opening its “Instant Articles” to all publishers – including freelance individuals.
No longer limiting itself to media organizations means wider, more diverse content. Their guidelines for publisher qualifications are fairly broad, as well.
All Instant Articles do need to reference a web link, so if you participate you can’t publish exclusively on Facebook. It’s a simple enough thing to set up a target website for article distribution, then reference the site in your article.
In return, Facebook will give you around 70% of the revenue from ads sold within the post, with Facebook doing all the selling.
